Is Havana Really Cheap? Get Swept Away by the City’s Rhythms

During my first trip to Havana, I often found myself questioning, “Will I come back here again?” At that time, I didn’t even know if I would pass through that area again, let alone return to Havana. However, life is always full of unexpected surprises. Somehow, I got the opportunity to visit Havana for the second time and experience Cuba during both the Fidel Castro era and afterward. I am still struggling to digest this experience.

Describing Havana is quite challenging; despite having traveled to many cities, Havana has a unique atmosphere. As I wandered through those streets, the thought, “There is no city like this,” kept swirling in my mind. There is a certain pleasure in getting lost in the streets of any city, but Havana takes that feeling to an entirely different level. The streets that surprised and frightened me during my first visit gradually started to draw me in unexpectedly. Every moment I spent in Havana evoked the feeling that those streets I would hesitate to step into in another country would become an inseparable part of my life.
